Book Launch for Stan Rogal's There Goes the Neighbourhood > AUGUST 29

Frontenac House and Type Books invite you to celebrate the Toronto launch of a fantastic new collection of short fiction, There Goes the Neighbourhood, from the esteemed and always entertaining Stan Rogal.

Have you ever wondered what your neighbours are really up to? Stan Rogal has not just spent a lot of time considering the secret and not-so-secret lives of his neighbours, but he has written a collection of ten dark-humoured short stories about it. A young couple is chastised by neighbours for fencing in their back garden. An older couple is offered a chance to earn money by shooting a porn video in their basement. An old voyeur spies on the actions of a mail deliverer. All accumulate into a short story collection with echoes of Rod Serling, Julio Cortazar, and Franz Kafka.

Stan Rogal was born in Vancouver and has called Toronto his home for about twenty-six years. His work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies in Canada, the US and Europe, some in translation. He is the author of 19 books: 4 novels, 4 story and 11 poetry collections. Most recent publications include Obsessions (stories, Leaping Lion Press, 2014) and after words (poems, Guernica Editions, 2014). He is also a produced playwright and general bon vivant.
