AUTHORS FOR INDIES
Authors for Indies Day is an annual event held at independent bookstores (indies) all across Canada. Created as a Canadian version of Sherman Alexie’s Indies First Campaign, the event has Canadian authors show their appreciation for indie bookstores by volunteering as guest booksellers. The goal is to raise awareness of indie bookstores and how important they are: to our communities, our reading lives, and our cultural well-being.

11AM-4PM SMALL TYPE 
Canada's kidlit stars will host a story time in Type’s kids’ room, reading from their favourite picture books.

10AM-7PM CANLIT LOVE
Acclaimed local writers will take shifts as booksellers, giving a brief pitches to the crowd about one book they love before patrolling the shop floor to help customers find the their next great reads.
